A Dissolving Constant

Posted in Poem, Spirituality with tags , , , , , , , , , on June 30, 2014 by shatteredbutterfly

Moments are fleeting
Slip by us like lightning
Contrived of small flashes of electrical pulses and waves
Witnessed only once and then fades

Moments continue
Like how the sunsets from yellow into
Hues that transform from soft pink to pastel violet
As clouds steadily change their figure on the horizon
The entire sky is bit by bit lightened
With it the sun disappears down a field of green
Warmth travels to touch your skin from its beams
As it passes through spaces between trees

Heartstrings fastened together
Will one day unwind and lose their grip
A trees’ branches cease reaching
As it’s roots encounter a limit

Footprints in the sand are
Washed away by the force of a wave
Collapsing in on itself as it forms a concave

Notice how your hand has dried
from when it was once immersed in the sea
As a rock slowly corrodes, loses form and becomes debris

The universe and every particle are set at a constant
An ever changing ocean of transformation
An uncatchable, elusive barrage

Arising and dissolving
Spinning and revolving

Life’s preciousness in only found in it’s fleeting nature
The surge of adrenaline present in the face of danger

Can wholeness and completion be realized
in the fragmented moments I can only stitch together
and weave apart

Does boundlessness reside someplace uninhibited
A concept destroyed by my perception so limited
A place where voices echo to the edges of the universe which spill onto it’s sides
So vast where no thing could conceivably collide

Permanence is revealed to be
An illusion no longer concealed by materiality
Seemingly opposites await in flux until

equilibrium is perpetuated by a made up finality
Seasons change and so have I
Death runs a circle and finds it’s other half as alive

Sheer smoke hangs  atop of a still lake
Mist encompassing mountaintops will soon too dissipate

Each deceased creature will turn to ash from where it originates

Antithesis Of Perfect

Posted in Poem, Self Esteem, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on June 19, 2014 by shatteredbutterfly

Carping sentiments cascade from you’re mouth might be reflected
From a tired mind, a heavy heart that’s been neglected
Your tiny lies piling up into a collection
As though you’re unaware to whom they’re being directed
With every bit of self doubt it’s not only yourself who’s become infected
No awareness of how an attitude so demonizing may be subjected

You say you’re more than qualified as the antithesis of perfect
Yet you fail at convincing me of you’re insignificance

You try to insist that I believe
that you must be nothing special
but if that were true there would be no way to achieve
an aura so magnetizing

Why, I must be misconceived, I must have become delusional
What possibilities are there to show you the light within you is provable

If a daisy could deflect it’s own simple charm
By measuring itself to rose or an orchid
It’s pointed out it’s own point of view has grown distorted

Stop fretting about the sun or the moon
being in the correct alignment
There are some things we may never change, like a a matter of our climate

Finding Hope in Hollow Worlds

Posted in Culture, Poem with tags , , on June 10, 2014 by shatteredbutterfly

I’ve searched for truth in haunted eyes, searching still
but have only found lies
No answers found upon the roads I’ve followed
leading nowhere, to places hollow
The promise of sleep is where my faith has been laid
As my unconscious mind wanders to drift and I fade
A sweet escape, a temporal rest
From a an unconscious world I have come to detest

Unfastened

Posted in Depression, Poem with tags , , , , , , , on April 2, 2014 by shatteredbutterfly

A sub-conscience mind streams
thoughts arbitrarily
Like the aftermath of an earthquake
through a library

A tongue
whose grip
is loose on vocabulary

A personality which has lost touch
with self
like hundreds of books cascading off shelves

Thin pages extended on the floor are scattered
where illegible sentences gather

Drifting through this Mundane state of being
Weird & dull are now commonplace in my dreaming

Sanity unfastened
Clouded in a this haze of static
Easily distracted

Ambition’s diminishing
Sentences started with no intention of finishing

Loneliness may be solitaire
If there’s a solution it’s unaware

This mind cannot separate
Circular from linear
Ascending apart from inferior
What lies inside or is exterior

Herded around aimlessly by delta waves
Solaced by confusion & detached delusions
Clarity ever so unavailable with self certainty being unattainable

To have one ounce of faith in myself
Lately, I’m simply incapable

Lip Service Fee

Posted in Poem with tags , , , , on March 26, 2014 by shatteredbutterfly
The cost of lip service
Could result in
A rapid heartbeat
Dilated eyes
A willingness to trust
Words won’t be wearing a disguise

Be careful with what you want me to hear
Your words have an ability to steer
Emotions into an array of roulette
It’s only a degree of time
That buries you in debt

Lip service always comes at a fee
and it’s victims seem to believe it’s free

Endlessness

Does a melody
Ever become
less beautiful
If you listen to it endlessly?

Do words
lose their meaning
after speaking them repeatedly?

Will my soul carry on
if nothing carries it
and these thoughts that burn inside
will they ever quit
Can suns shine throughout the galaxies
without a witness?
Does an alarm clock get jaded of counting minutes
Do clouds form arrangements of animals and scenes
for their own entertainment, never to know if they’ll be seen

Do trees grow to reach into heavens gates
and what could a rock understand about fate
Can we meet in dreams
is anything what it seems
Do stars ever contemplate their demise
Do starfish ever wish they had eyes

Were guitars made from broken harps
that angels threw away
If ideas are only concepts, could they possibly decay
can only an angel wear a halo
Does the earth ever fear it’s own volcanos
and are tsunamis really a swirl in the oceans cup of tea
Does a vortex exist with innumerable lost keys

See I ask myself questions
build upon contemplation
Does life lose it’s meaning
without observation

could the cosmos be diminished
with a firm grasp from God’s hand
With all these thoughts I’m waiting
Will I ever understand

All But Words

Posted in Art, Poem, Spirituality, Uncategorized with tags , , on January 28, 2014 by shatteredbutterfly

it is all
but syllables and letters
rhetoric & noise
until you live and experience
true illusion destroyed
equilibrium hangs in waiting
A path no one can afford
Without letting go of
the block to hit the chord
the letters form words
falling upon deaf listeners
repeating mantra and song, but know not what toward
but the one’s who
truly understand
need no signs
nor commands
See, words they have no meaning
at least here in a sense
without finally knowing
the life they represent

Love’s Hostage (Glamour Me)

– PART 1 –

A silent storm seen brewing deep in ominous clouds
Nefarious eyes seeking a hostage, almost found
by it’s maddening drive lies no limits
knows no bounds
relentlessly they hound

Artemis unleashed, legs draped over a crescent moon
she softly wields her weapon and hums a muted tune

Tilts her head slightly
while sharpingly
aims
bow and arrow
it’s reflection as flames
gleaming from mirror moonlit glow
It’s target lies below

Through forest & through trees
above hills and tall grasses
an arrow encounters a pure heart
and falls to knee as it passes

A witch crouches down, places her hands into prayer
whispering haunting curses, binding her swears
and as it’s being chanted
a maddening drive gets planted

As they lay with a cold hand under a head slowly raised,
weary Eyes are aligned through a dense haze
glazed stare of a seer has been embed
waiting for the spell to thoroughly spread

A hand grips onto leverage as needle brisk air is inhaled
Dark Gods watch as her humanity goes pale

serenity fully drained, replaced with
A burning current running through her viens

This is part one in series inspired by heartbreak and longing, with some of the same themes presented in the show Vampire Diaries. Lovers understand what it’s like to be struck with cupid’s arrow, a feeling so intense that being around the person of the directed affection is painful. It’s a maddening drive, at times feeling like a curse. Falling in love is one thing, but as we will learn in this series the feelings aren’t mutual, and of malicious origins.

Tell me, how has your unrequited love fared?
Are you in love right now?
Have you felt the pain of having an uncontrollable attraction for someone?

Star Crossed Souls

Star Crossed Souls

Separated since antiquity
What myth each holds on their own remains a mystery
An unwritten revelation placed within history

Beneath transparent cosmic waves lie in a slumber, lie asleep
A silent heart creates ripples emanating in the deep
Centuries pass, fates to collide at last
Two stars to be united, a burning flame ignited

When stars align to map out our constellation
Tied to a heart beat’s elation
Our paths will intertwine, they’re bound to in time

At a glance, I’m captivated
Like a drug, deeply sedated
Drowning, saturated

We are Hydrogen filled particles brought out of a stars vision
Remarkably extracted from the deepest incision
Formed within a sea of heavenly clouds collision

Through a hearts declaration of an undying dedication
A tale of our souls destination, from the mouth of an angel’s narration
Sung a ballad of an everlasting salvation

From a stars inception to it’s awaited demise
A chronicle of enchantment in it lies

Inside

Posted in Poem, Spirituality with tags on July 15, 2012 by shatteredbutterfly

Have you ever laid at night
with the cosmo’s so bright
In the nebula of your eye
and you Grasped at that moment , inside a chance
Wishing that feeling would never pass
So you spread your arms open
Never holding back
Let it flow through nights, stars shine so bright
Grasp tight
In the separateness something had to collide.
Not a choice.
Something out of sight, and light and
Time.
Because in this moment
Nothing’s pass…. and  nothing matters. And
No thing lasts.
Even if you disagree, one day you may feel
You will so surreal
